Our Story

Inherently, I’m someone who’s driven by passion. So, it’s no surprise that Banter is a product of something that I feel very strongly about. Here’s how it all started: As a young foodie studying in the US, I found myself exposed to the best cuisines in the world, and simultaneously healthy eating barriers such as time constraints, easy access to calorie-heavy, low-cost convenience food and high prices of healthy food. Needless to say, clubbed with erratic eating habits these factors led me down the road of hormonal changes, acne and weight gain.

The silver lining? It was the wakeup call I needed! Over time, I found myself seeking information and practicing positive, balanced eating. But in 2019 when I moved back to India, access to the healthy options I had grown accustomed to diminished significantly. This drove me to think, “How can I change things at a personal level?”. I began brainstorming on what I could do to make people more aware of foods that taste delicious and are healthy too. I was soon gripped by the need to make available simple, honest, powerful foods so that people could make a healthy lifestyle switch and maintain it too.

From the very beginning our motto has been to provide healthy options that make you happy! Our approach to health doesn’t focus on restrictions and strict regimens, but instead on nourishing your body in a way that’s enjoyable, sustainable and impactful. To this end our products are made from locally-sourced, high-quality ingredients that are processed ever-so-minimally and priced mindfully. Our products range from Rs.160 to Rs.500 so that everyone can add a bit of Banter to their busy lives!

When I launched Banter, it was a one-woman operation. Today, we’re a motivated team of 6 who work tirelessly to bring the Banter vision to life. As we grow from strength to strength, our ultimate vision remains the same—to provide people with a fuss-free, sustainable and scrumptious way to better their health. In the years to come, we aim to become a household name with an umbrella of products for everyone, from toddlers to grown-ups.
